We all had it rough to some degree when we were teenagers but it’s nothing compared to what kids today are up against. Social media has become a driving force in the way that teens see themselves, others, and the world. It’s created unrealistic expectations of the kind of life that teens “should” be living and sending them chasing goals that may not be healthy or even possible. In addition, schools continue to increase academic pressure, focusing more on test results and college admissions than on the life skills needed to create resilient, independent young adults. We parents are doing our best for our kids, but it can be tough when we are up against our own struggles.

Together, your teen and I will explore what they want from life, how to realistically achieve their goals, and ways to manage the stress that comes with becoming an adult in our current society.

“There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. You certainly usually find something, if you look, but it is not always quite the something you were after.”- J.R.R. Tolkien
